People sometimes ask how I can be both a Christian and a psychic medium. They may wonder how prayer fits into the work I do—or whether the two belong together at all.
For me, prayer is not separate from my work. It is how I prepare myself to do it responsibly.
I have been a Christian for most of my life. My faith did not appear after I became a psychic medium, and I did not leave my faith behind when I began working professionally. Christianity has shaped the way I understand my ability, how I treat clients and the boundaries I maintain.
I believe my ability comes from God. That is my personal understanding of it. But believing that does not mean I claim that everything I sense is a direct message or command from God. I am still human. I must interpret the impressions I receive, communicate them honestly and recognize that I can misunderstand something.
Prayer helps me remember that.
Prayer Is How I Prepare
Before an appointment, I pray.
I ask God to help me approach the client with honesty, compassion and clarity. I ask that I receive whatever information may be helpful and that I communicate it in a way the client can understand.
I also ask for protection—for myself and for the person sitting with me.
This is not a dramatic ritual. There are no candles, cards, crystals or complicated ceremonies. Most clients never see this part of my preparation. It is usually a quiet moment between God and me.
Prayer allows me to settle myself before entering someone else’s personal world. Clients often arrive carrying fear, grief, uncertainty or questions that may affect important areas of their lives. They deserve my complete attention. Prayer helps me become quiet enough to give them that attention.
Prayer Does Not Guarantee a Particular Answer
Prayer is not a way to force an answer.
I cannot pray harder and guarantee that a particular person will come through during a mediumship appointment. I cannot demand a prediction or promise that every question will receive the answer someone wants.
Prayer does not turn a psychic impression into an unquestionable fact.
My responsibility is to share what I receive as honestly as I can—not to exaggerate it, make it more dramatic or present it as absolute truth. Sometimes the information is immediately clear. Sometimes it takes time for the client to understand it. Occasionally, something may not make sense at all.
Faith should make a practitioner more humble—not more certain about everything.
Prayer Helps Keep My Ego Out of the Appointment
There can be pressure in this profession to prove yourself.
Some people want a psychic to perform on command. They may test the practitioner, withhold information or wait for one extraordinary statement that proves everything. A psychic can easily become focused on being impressive instead of being helpful.
Prayer reminds me that an appointment is not about proving how gifted I am.
It is about serving the person who trusted me enough to schedule the session. I do not need to create drama, frighten someone or make an enormous prediction to demonstrate my ability.
My television appearances, media work and years of experience may tell people something about my professional background. But none of those things should be more important than how I treat the individual sitting in front of me today.
Prayer brings me back to that responsibility.
Prayer and Discernment
Not every thought is intuition. Not every feeling is a psychic impression. Not every coincidence is a sign.
Discernment is an important part of this work.
I must consider what I am receiving, how strongly I am receiving it and whether I may be interpreting it through my own experiences or emotions. Prayer helps me slow down and listen instead of rushing to fill every moment with an answer.
It also helps me recognize what I should not say.
Something may be unnecessary, outside my professional boundaries or potentially harmful if communicated carelessly. Having an impression does not automatically give me permission to present it without thought or sensitivity.
Clients deserve honesty, but honesty and compassion should work together.
Prayer Does Not Replace Professional Responsibility
My faith is deeply important to me, but it does not excuse me from operating professionally.
Prayer does not replace clear policies, confidentiality, preparation, ethical boundaries or respect for a client’s right to make their own choices. It does not qualify me to act as a physician, attorney, therapist or financial adviser.
A psychic reading should not take control away from the client.
I can share what I receive. I can help someone consider a situation from another perspective. I can sometimes confirm what they already sense within themselves. But the client remains responsible for their decisions and their life.
I do not believe God gave me the authority to control another person through fear, predictions or claims of spiritual superiority.
What Happens After the Reading?
I often pray after an appointment as well.
I give thanks for the opportunity to help someone and then release the conversation. This is important because psychic and mediumship appointments can involve deeply emotional subjects.
I may hear about illness, loss, difficult relationships, family conflict or decisions that could change someone’s future. I care about my clients, but I cannot carry every person’s pain home with me.
Prayer helps me place those concerns back into God’s hands.
Faith Is the Foundation, Not a Sales Claim
I identify as a Christian Psychic Medium because that description accurately represents who I am and how I understand my ability.
It does not mean that every client must share my religious beliefs. I have worked with people from many different faiths, cultures and backgrounds. I do not use an appointment to preach to clients or pressure them to believe what I believe.
My faith guides my conduct. It should help me become more honest, compassionate and responsible—not judgmental.
I also do not use God’s name to make my impressions sound more authoritative. Saying “God told me” can place an enormous amount of pressure on a vulnerable person. I would rather describe what I am sensing and allow the client to consider whether it is meaningful to them.
So, What Does Prayer Have to Do With a Psychic Reading?
For me, prayer has everything to do with how I prepare, how I listen and how I remain grounded.
It reminds me that my ability is not something to exploit. It reminds me that the person seeking my help deserves honesty and care. It helps me separate service from performance and faith from ego.
Prayer does not make me perfect, and it does not make every impression infallible.
It simply helps me approach this work with the humility, responsibility and compassion it deserves.
